The format stays the same as we deliver informative and hopefully captivating band biographies and exclusive interviews with the artists who shaped these decades of music that were often under the radar and may have been forgotten by some.

What they have in common in our view, is that their stories or their music has been uncharted. They may have left a lasting impact on some of us and it's time to celebrate them.

About Us

The Podcast was Created by Noel & Martin who have been mates for over 30 years and have a passion for music as well as a passion to bring some of the more obscure bands to a wider audience. The Podcast episodes have a format of a short band biography and then an interview with members of that band or Individuals.

Latest Episode

This Episode features Young Knives (originally THE Young Knives) formed in the early 2000’s in Oxford. If you havent heard of them they are acclaimed for their witty and sometimes surreal songwriting and observations of mundane life.

Their first album in 2006 “Voices of Animals and Men” reached No. 21 in the UK Album Charts and was nominated for the MercuryPrize for best UK album. They are touring the 20th anniversary of the album later this year.

In this episode we feature a short bio of the band as usual and a chat with Henry Dartnall who is the vocalist and guitarist and songwriter in the band. He has some terrific stories and the fact they are still around today to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album is testament to their longevity and ability to survive in the Music Industry.

Why did you change the name of the podcast?

With a fresh name comes fresh flexibility while we’ll still dive deep into the hidden gems of the 80s, we’re now exploring uncharted sounds from the 70s, 80's & 90s, and beyond.

 

How will I know which Decade you are focussing on?

You will see from the episodes that we will badge them as Uncharted 80's, Uncharted 90's etc for example, the first 20 episodes were from the 80's and the next series of Episodes are bands from the 90's.
